Through the prompt and accurate recording of all Adverse Events, we maintain and enable improvements to safety across our working environments for all employees and other persons on site.

Event Definitions

Accident: An unplanned event resulting in ill-health, injury, death or damage.

Incident: An event that has not resulted in significant harm but could cause an accident under different circumstances

Observation: A set of conditions or circumstances that are unfavourable and usually have the potential to cause injury, ill health, death or damage.

Marine Events are any of the above for which the Harbour Authority must be made aware of, and which may require reporting to the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).
